    Event Description:
    Veterans Day is an annual United States Holiday honoring military veterans, observed on November 11. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world. This is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I, which formally ended at the  11th  hour of the  11th  day of the  11th  month in 1918. There are several ways to thank and honor our Veterans in the Red Wing area in observance of Veterans Day:
    • November 7-11--Care package for the Troops Drive, sponsored by St. Brigid’s at Hi-Park and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. St. Brigid’s at Hi-Park and the American Legion will cover all shipping costs.
    • November 7-11--The Red Cross Luminary Collection, various locations around town.
    • November 10—Veteran and spouse free dinner at the American Legion, 5-7PM. $5 for additional non-Veteran guests.
    • November 11--Veterans Day dinner and program, featuring speaker Larry Tillemans, at the National Guard Armory, with social hour starting at 5PM, dinner at 6PM and program at 7:30PM. Veterans receive 2 free tickets (pick them up at Red Wing Senior Center), non-Veterans $12. Sponsored by Treasure Island Resort & Casino.
    • November 11--Strictly GI! will be at the Sheldon Theatre on November 11 at 7PM
    • November 12—Strictly GI! at 2PM and 7PM at Sheldon Theatre. Tickets are $15 Adults and $9 Students. Raising the morale of troops both here and abroad during World War II, soldiers put on their own shows. Strictly GI! is a musical revue that recreates a Soldier Show using the sketch comedy and songs that emerged from that pivotal struggle.
    • November 12—Assembly of Care Packages—at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
