Red Wing Public Schools will be holding community meetings in May to discuss the operating budget as well as a Facility Assessment and Master Plan. The findings of this process will help the school district make decisions that will impact the students and community for years to come.
In 2008, the school district passed an operating levy to help fund district programs. During the next few months, decisions will be made about the possibility of proposing a referendum in November to renew or increase this levy. In addition, over the last few months school district consultants have conducted evaluations of the buildings to identify current facility conditions and needs. The school district would like to have the public review this information and help develop potential options for consideration by the school board and community.
A critical component of the decision-making process for these important issues is to obtain community input. Participants are asked to attend 3 meetings: May 10th from 6:30-8:00PM at Twin Bluff Middle School; May 24th from 6:30-8:00PM at Twin Bluff Middle School and Meeting 3: to be determined.
Please contact Karsten Anderson, Superintendent, at klanderson@redwing.k12.mn.usor call 651-385-4500 if you have any questions about the process or any other school-related issue.
