              Event Description:
              Tom Schneider, the Red Wing Fire Chief met with the Red Wing Manufacturers Association in May and explained the need for specialized training and equipment required to provide formal confined space rescue services. RWFD has budgeted for and added confined space rescue training into its 2011 training schedule to better serve the needs of businesses and industries in the community that have confined space requirements. However, training alone will not facilitate a safe and effective confined space rescue response; specialized equipment is necessary. At the meeting with the Red Wing Manufacturers, a confined space consortium was proposed. A follow up meeting is scheduled for 3:30PM on Wednesday, June 23 in the City Council Chambers at City Hall (315 W/ 4th Street), to explore how to fund the purchase of specialized confined space rescue equipment. If your business has confined space areas, please consider having a representative at this meeting.
