Event Description:
Public Invited To Share Input On Regional Transit Routes—March 16—5—7PM—City Council Chambers The Minnesota Department of Transportation has been studying needs and opportunities for inter-county and intercity transit service in an eleven-county region. A number of potential regional transit links have been identified and evaluated as part of the study, including regional transit links between Red Wing and Rochester, Northfield and Bloomington, Albert Lea and Faribault, Austin and Rochester, and Winona and Rochester.
The public is invited to MnDOT’s Open House on March 16 at City Hall Council Chambers, 5-7PM to discuss the service concepts and talk about how transit services might be developed to meet the needs of residents, businesses, institutions and human service providers in Southeast Minnesota. The planning team will present study findings and concepts, and provide information about how community members can provide input as the study moves into its final phase.
In addition to the public open houses, Southeast Minnesota residents are invited to join the planning team for a Project Webinar on Monday, March 21 at 3 PM. The session will include a formal presentation of the study findings and questions and answers about the service alternatives.
