Event Description:

Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant is celebrating 40 years of providing clean, reliable electricity. Prairie Island is using this important milestone as an opportunity to show their appreciation to the community and their colleagues for the continued support to ensure responsible energy for the future. The event features a behind-the-scenes tour of Prairie Island’s full-scale nuclear control room simulator, and exhibits about nuclear power operations and initiatives at the station. Lunch will also be provided. The training center is located at 1660 Wakonade Drive West, Welch, MN. This event is free and open to the public.
