Red Wing poet, Gary Holthaus, non-fiction writer and story teller will read his poems on March 24 at 2 PM at the Goodhue County History Center (located at 1166 Oak Street in Red Wing). Holthaus will read new poems including some from recent books titled Walking off the Map and True as Black Ice. A 2011 recipient of an Original Works Grant from Southeast Minnesota Arts Council, Holthaus has been writing new poems and making hand-bound books and broadsides, some of which will be on display at the reading. Holthaus is also the recipient of a 1990 fellowship for poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts. Following the reading, Holthaus will be happy to take comments, sign books, and answer questions.
