The Eisenhower Bridge Project is a project that will affect our entire area and especially our business community. Studies have shown that over 12,000 cars cross this bridge every day and the majority of them are crossing for employment reasons. MNDOT has new information to present to the Red Wing community regarding several decisions on how to proceed with the river crossing in Red Wing. On Thursday, July 25 there will be a public open house from 4:30-6PM, in the Foot Room of the Public Library, with a program at 5PM. From a meeting last week, we learned that MnDOT recommends replacing the existing bridge, by building a new 2-lane bridge 10’ away from the existing bridge. There are 4 bridge styles being considered (narrowed down from 7) and there are several different approach designs being considered. There are also several decisions to be made regarding the historic cement bridge that crosses over Highway 61 (Bridge 9103). Please attend this important meeting and learn about the bridge project and voice YOUR opinions.
