Each session will begin with a short presentation and then you will be able to talk with the company’s representatives about how your business can start saving energy dollars. Please come join us for a cup of coffee, glass of lemonade, or some light refreshments and learn about how the City of Red Wing is working to save future tax dollars with energy saving projects today.
This forum will give business owners and key staff members the opportunity to meet with representatives from Xcel Energy, All Energy Solar, and Newport Partners, all of which have been involved in recent projects to help the City of Red Wing reduce overall energy consumption or transfer some of the usage to more sustainable energy sources. The City of Red Wing is committed to reducing our overall carbon footprint and we would like to share the information about our efforts with the business community in and around Red Wing. All Energy Solar has recently completed the installation of a new solar electric system at the Red Wing Fire Station. Using grant funding form Xcel Energy and the State of Minnesota along with creative financing offered by Newport Partners, the City was able to install this entire system at no cost to our citizens. The City is also working on the final design plans for two more solar energy projects at the Red Wing Solid Waste Campus and the Public Works Building. These three systems combined will be able to generate approximately 97 kW of electrical power per year, over the 40 year life expected of the systems, making the estimated saving to the City of Red Wing approximately $540,000.
