Senior Accountant
Summary:
River Valley Power & Sport in Red Wing, MN is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our team. The purpose of this position is to ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and ensure audit ready data is maintained at all times. On top of direct responsibilities, the Senior Accountant will also provide indirect support and backup duties to other accounting functions as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintains accurate and organized financial records.
· Reconciles bank statements.
· Completes reports for accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll as needed and performs timely data entry as needed.
· Manages the appropriate allocation of expenses.
· Manages recurring general journal entries and adjusting as needed.
· Monitors check deposits, direct deposits, bank accounts online and transfers within accounts.
· Cross train with other accounting staff on back up responsibilities as specified.
· Partners with human resources on payroll issues and backup support.
· Reviews and approves daily deposit journal entries.
· Reviews data regularly to ensure correct coding of transactions.
· Files monthly sales tax to MN & WI.
· Reconciles bi-weekly disbursement of payroll, including garnishments, benefits, taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
· All other duties as required or assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with minimum 5 years of experience that includes 3-5 years working at a senior level. A CPA designation is preferred but not required.
Salary:
$80,000 to $100,000 Annual, Depending On Experience.
