    -PRESS RELEASE-

The Red Wing Marine Museum is proud to announce a special event that is going to take place this season.  The museum along with the Red Wing Photography Club is going to hold a photo contest for club members and any local photographers in the area.

The contest will feature each person submitting a photo of a scene from around Red Wing involving the Mississippi River, whether it’s a picture of a boat, wildlife, river activity or any scene involving the river.  The photo must be brought to the museum on Levee Street on July 23, 2016 between 1:00-5:00 P.M.

The pictures will then be put on display in the museum and one picture will be chosen and presented with an award in honor of local photographer Phil Revoir.  Phil, who is a lifelong resident and professional photographer in Red Wing, had been producing and collecting photos of Red Wing, MN his entire life.  His family recently donated pictures and negatives of his work to the local museums in Red Wing.

The “Revoir”, a perpetual award, will hang in the Red Wing Marine Museum along with the winning photo for one year until the next photo contest.  The winner will be announced at River City Days.
