May 15—Backyard Birds—Build and Hike—9AM-11AM
Join Randii Waddell of SawRise Woodworks and a Red Wing Park Naturalist in this fun collaborative class. First, with the help and expertise of Randii, we will use pre-cut wood to put together our own bird feeders. Use pain, markers, and other items to decorate your bird feeder. While the paint is drying, go on a hike with the Red Wing Park Naturalist. You will learn how to use binoculars, identify basic bird calls, and hopefully spot many colorful birds on their spring migration. Fill your feeders with the provided birdseed, hang them up at your home, and use your new skills to ID your backyard birds all year long. Dress for the weather, bring binoculars if you have your won pair. Meet at the Upper Quarry at Memorial Park. $25 per project.
