    Title: Marketing & Events Specialist
    Reports to: President & CEO
    30-40 hours/week

     
    Job Summary
    The Marketing & Events Specialist serves as the primary event organizer for all major events hosted by the Chamber. They will also be responsible for ensuring proper communication of Chamber benefits and initiatives to the community at large, outreach, and a positive public image of the Chamber through digital marketing, area publications, and chamber events as defined in the strategic plan and annual planning guide.

    Under the supervision of the President/CEO the Marketing & Events Specialist will also design and create promotional items for the Chamber for both print and online use. As a team player, they will be knowledgeable, with training, on all aspects of the Chamber and be able to assist with duties and responsibilities for special events, deadlines, meetings etc. where needed.

    Skills & Qualifications
    • Organized and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Work effectively with volunteers, members, media, and the general public.
    • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Working knowledge of computer systems and software, specifically Microsoft Office suite, well-versed in digital marketing platforms, and have general knowledge of WordPress. Knowledge of QuickBooks is also preferred.
    • Basic graphic design skills are a plus.
    • Able to occasionally work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed for events.

    Essential Job Functions
    • Handles all aspects of Chamber events from start to finish.

    • Coordinates venues, set-up, catering, attendees, sponsors, and volunteers, as well as the marketing promotion/campaign of each event.
    • Creates and distributes event emails (including post-event), maintains records of events, and makes recommendations for future events.
    • Oversees and prepares promotional materials for the Chamber’s events.
    • Leads volunteer event committees to ensure work and goals are met.
    • Create a KPI strategy for all revenue-generating events.

    • Drafts and distributes all email communication coordinating with Chamber staff to ensure correct and timely information.
    • Maintain and develop internal tools to maximize email marketing campaigns, including market segmentation, campaign results, etc.
    • Maintain and update all relevant Chamber information on the website as needed.
    • Maintain subscription plug-ins and member advertising on the website.
    • Plans, writes, and executes communication for all social media platforms & website blogs in coordination with the executive director.
    • Create marketing materials, promotional collateral, and social media graphics while maintaining the Chamber brand for marketing campaigns, special events, new initiatives, etc. in collaboration with the President/CEO.
    • Participates as needed in Chamber volunteer committee meetings and other scheduled meetings.
    • Assists in onboarding new members.
    • Assists in Chamber mailing production.
    • Assists with year-end planning: event calendars, member planning guide, annual documents, etc.
    • Answers phones, and responds to general emails and walk-ins as needed.
    • Perform other duties as requested by the President/CEO.

    Preferred Background, Experience & Qualifications
    Event planning & promotion; marketing; public relations; digital/print content creation; customer relationship management.

    Compensation
    Entry-level to mid-level. Competitive wage commensurate with experience.
