    What is SmartTown™?

It’s free.  It’s easy.  It’s smart.

SmartTown is a “shop local” program that rewards you for shopping at participating businesses in Red Wing. With your SmartTown card, those businesses offer cash rewards to you the cardholder and make a charitable contribution to the non-profit or charity of your choice.

There is no cost for you to participate.

Three Easy Ways to Use Your SmartTown Card

  Reward – Redeem – Recharge

1.  Reward
Earn cash rewards for shopping at participating businesses.  Your reward is based on their specific offer. Half of the reward isstored on your card until you spend it. The other half is paid by that business to the charity or non-profit designated by your card. Register your card online to select your cause of choice – change it as often as you like.

Every time you use your card at a participating business, you earn cash for you and your cause.  

2.  Redeem
Use your stored cash value to pay for purchases at participating businesses. The cash stored on your card is just like cash in your wallet. And when you use your card to pay, the business rewards you again – your card won’t have a zero balance after your initial purchase. 

3.  Recharge
You can load money onto your SmartTown card, making it just like a gift card. Recharge your card online at the SmartTown website or go to
a participating business.  

SmartTown is not a credit card.
You cannot go in debt with SmartTown. It simply earns real money for you and your chosen non-profit or charity. Your money is stored on your SmartTown card until you spend it. Your chosen non-profit or charity receives their money once a month, every month.
