Name: Ranked Choice Voting in Red Wing?
    Date: November 15, 2018
    Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM CST
    Event Description:
Please join League of Women Voters - Red Wing for a presentation by FairVote Minnesota on ranked choice voting (RCV), how it works in other cities, and how a community like Red Wing could adopt it. The Red Wing Charter Commission studied and recommended RCV in 2012 but it was tabled until advancements in voting equipment and rules were made. Last year, the Red Wing Citizens Assembly also recommended RCV for local use. Is now the time for Red Wing to consider RCV? Join us for this important and timely conversation with FairVote Minnesota’s executive director, Jeanne Massey and director of state outreach, Liz Johnson. FairVote Minnesota is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that educates the public and advocates for voting systems like Ranked Choice Voting that are more inclusive, participatory and representative. LWV, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
